Quelles sont les missions ?
The candidate will participate to the development of electronics and mechatronics aspects of new processes or of new scientific instruments in the Prototyping Platform. The responsibilities of the engineer will include:
-to participate to meetings in the framework of projects
-to understand requests from stakeholders and translate them into a working plan
-to understand systems and be able to propose improvements
-to document the work in order to ensure guarantee the traceability of the developments
-to design and manufacture electrical schematics
-to program PLC
-to develop and assemble electrical cabinets and racks
-to carry out functional tests on process equipment or scientific instruments
-to follow up projects in repair or maintenance operations
-to follow up processes with manufacturers and suppliers
Quel est le profil idéal ?
-Hold an Engineer degree in electronics, mechatronics or a related field
-First Engineer experience accepted
-Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
-Experience in prototype development and operation
-Electronics device design
-Knowledge in electrical machinery development, including the safety requirements related to standards
-Knowledge in instrument interfacing from an electronics and software point of view
-Knowledge in PLC programming
-Basic experience with mechanical and/or electrical CAD software
-Ability to work in a team, having a good communication
-Self-reliance and spirit of initiative
-Be fluent in English and French (both oral and written)
-Knowledge of Luxembourgish or German will be an asset

The Prototyping Platform of the MRT department at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) focuses on the development of scientific instruments and prototypes. The prototyping team has a transversal role, supporting all research groups with its own engineering expertise.
